Services
Dr. Daryl Popoff, optometrist, and staff have been professionally trained to accurately assess the current health of your eyes, adnexa and visual system. With our specialized instrumentation the doctor evaluates your eye health, even your systemic health, to help prevent, diagnose and treat vision concerns.
The optometric exam begins with personal data collection (used for office purposes only) to manage referrals, contact lens care, insurance billing, recall and patient communications. PLEASE FORWARD YOUR EMAIL TO info@popoff.ca or contact us via Facebook, so that the office may connect with you in a timely manner.
To maximize your vision care, your vision assessment begins with pre-examination tests utilizing vision technology:
- auto refraction , estimation of your refractive status.
- auto keratometry, measurement of corneal curvature, sometimes a more detail corneal mapping is required via topography.
- frequency doubling technique (FDT), central to mid peripheral vision test- screens for optical, retinal and retrobulbar vision concerns.
The remainder of the oculo-visual assessment is concluded by the doctor of optometry in the examination room where pertinent history of the patient is collected, assessment of the pre-examination data and the conclusion of the exam are performed. Ocular health is assess, dilated pupils in some cases, with state of the art instrumentation. OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY is available for diabetic, macular degeneration, glaucoma and other ocular health conditions. Humphries visual fields (perimetry) is performed with patients usually when a retrobulbar (behind the eye) conditions are suspected. Intraocular pressure (IOP) is obtained by one of two, or both, methods: non-contact (puff test) or applanation (touch of the eye surface). Pachymetry is an optical measurement of the corneal thickness. Pachymetry is important for IOP measurement, corneal surgery and other corneal conditions.
